RANGE OF PRICES Christchurch, Oct., 22. At the Addington market heavy entries to-day brought about an easing in most classes of fat stock. Fat sheep, which showed an increase of about 1000 head in entries, eased sharply, particularly old ewes. , The average decline was about 4s while wethers were 2s fid cheaper. All but a few southern sheep were shorn. Good shorn wethers made from 22s to 255, tops to 31s, medium 18s to 21s and light from 16s to 17s fid. Good ewes made to 18s, tops to 21s, medium 14s 6d to 17s fid and light from 10s upwards. The store sheep entry was much larger than usual. Ewe hoggets sold for extra good sheep to 35s 3d for a small pen of three-quarterbreds in wool. Others made from 25s to 295, shorn 18s to 21s 3d. They were up to a shilling weaker than last week. Shorn wether hoggets and shorn wethers sold to 21s. The best of the ! ewes and lambs sold at from 15s fid to | 17s, all counted. Spring lambs attract- j ed an entry of 650 head, which was 1 more than the market wanted. Values j eased, the best making 10d a lb and others 9d. Top prices were from 28s j to 31s. Though there were fewer fat cattle forward than last week values dropped sharply, heavy bullocks by fully 25s a head, secondary steers and cows by 20s, and light prime steers and heifers by' 15s to 20s. Good beef made from 39s to 42s fid a 1001 b, a few tops to 445, medium and heavyweight 35s to 38s, and inferior down to 275. Good steers sold at from £l6 to £lB, a few tops more than £2O, and medium-weight prime steers from £l4 to £ls 10s. Good heifers made from £l2 to £l4, and best cows from £ll to £l4. | Best-quality porkers maintained ladl • week’s rales, over-weights and unfinished were 5s cheaper.
