PREMIER GIVES DETAILS Sydney, Oct. IH. The Premier, Mr McKell. gave details of the new taxation when bringing down the income tax rating Bill, which is being passed through the Assembly in all stages to-day. According to the schedule he submitted to the House taxpayers whose incomes range from £lB2 to £ISOO a year will pay slightly less in total tax than at present. but on incomes from £2OOO to £SOOO taxpayers of all classes will pay slightly more. The rates of tax payable by companies in respect of interest or dividends paid to non-residents will be. first, »id in the pound on amounts below £2OO. which are paid to residents in Australia; secondly. Is in the pound on amounts in excess of £2OO paid to residents in Australia; thirdly, Is in the pound on all amounts paid to persons residing outside Australia; fourthly 8s (!d in the pound on amounts paid to foreign countries. —U.P.A.
