COUNTY CLERK HONOURED Hokitika, Oct. 14 The Westland County Council entertained its county clerk. Mr David John Evans. 0.8. E.. on his completion of 50 years of service as a county executive officer. A large gathering representative of the district, gathered at the county chambers, the county chairman. Mr Thomas O'Neil, presiding. Eu'ogistic references were made to the long and faithful services rendered by Mr Evans, also to his many services in a civic capacity, including patriotic work in the last war and as secretary of the centenary committee and patriotic council. Presentations were made of a radio set from the council, a box of gold nuggets from the inside staff, and a leather handbag from the outside staff. Many congratulatory messages were received. P.A.
