This Day, “It would help the Board and help the Dominion if a general survey could be made of essential industries so as to ascertain how many men are required for industries.” said Mr A. M. Samuel, a member of No. 1 Armed Services Appeal Board during the hearing of appeals by several industrial firms for exemption from military service of employees whom they consider essential to the industry. The appeals were adjourned to 21st October so that further evidence might be tendered.— P.A.
