TOKIO-WASHINGTON TALKS
URGED TO BE BROKEN OFF JAPANESE PRESS COMMENT (Rec. 11.50 a.m.) Tokio, Oct. 13. The Japanese press to-day urges that negotiations with the United States should he broken off before the United States completes its war preparations. One paper gives a warning against the danger of allowing the negotiations to drag Nation-wide A.K.I*. tests were inaugurated last night except in Tokio, where tests begin next Monday.—U.P.A. 200,000 CHINESE TROOPS CONVERGING ON CHENGCHOW EFFORT TO RECAPTURE CITY (Rec.. 11.30 a.m.) Shanghai, Oct.. 30. Japanese despatches report that 200,000 Chinese troops are converging on | Chengchow in a desperate effort to re- ; capture the city.
