UNIVERSITY SENATE
RESULT OF ELECTION TWO MEMBERS DEFEATED j The recent election by members of i the General Court of Convocation of the University of New Zealand to select five members of the Senate, resulted in the return of three sitting members. Mrs G. H. Benson, Dunedin. Dr W. Newlands, Dunedin, and Mr F. A. de la Mare. Hamilton, and the defeat of two sitting members. Professor G. W. von Zedlitz, Wellington, and Mr A. E. Flower. Christchurch. The : new members are Mr W. A. Armour. Wellington. and Mr G. E. Archey. .Auckland. There were 16 candidates Mr Archey is president of the Royal Society of New Zealand, and director of the Auckland Institute and Museum, jMr Armour is headmaster of Welling ton College, and has been a member of the council of Victoria University College for three years. Air Flower has been a member of j the Senate since 1924.
