MISSION TO MOSCOW
FORMER NEW ZEALANDER New Plymouth,-Sept. 11. Lieutenant-Colanel Allan Monkhouse. who is reported to have been appointed assistant to Lord Beaverbrook. head of the British mission to Moscow, formerly lived at Stratford and attended the Stratford Technical High School. He is a son of the late Mr William Monkhouse. who was well known in the Stratford district as a farmer at Rowan. Mr Monkhouse. senior, was a candidate for the House of Representatives, but was unsuccess ! ful. He returned later to England and settled in Worcestershire.—P.A.
