Cor- ■ pornl A McKenzie, bearing the inscripi tion of a German prisoner of war camp j in Greece, were received yesterday by ! Mrs McKenzie, of Lower Hutt. On 28th May he was officially reported missing and subsequently wounded and missing. Mrs McKenzie had received ; no further advice of her husband till j the arrival of his letters, which were dated 6th May and 14th May. and writ--1 ten from “26th General Hospital, I R.A.M.C., British Army, near Athens. Corporal McKenzie reported that he had received a slight wound in the right thigh and was well on the way to recovery. At the time of writing he was in a Greek hospital but expected to be moved later. He said he was doing quite well, but added: “I am awfully i hungry. I’d like some of mum’s cakes right now. Oh for a feed.” Nothing had been excised from the | letters.—P.A.
