LEGISLATION VETOED BY MR ROOSEVELT (Rec. 1.55 p.m.) Washington, Aug 25. President Roosevelt vetoed legislation designed to freeze Government stocks o * wheat and cotton, declaring it as contrary to sound governmental policy and against the best interests m the long run both of the farmers and the consumers.
