Neale, extends a cordial in--1 vitation to members of the Forces now |on leave in Nelson to attend civic j functions which are to be held in their I honour ori Thursday, 21st August. At 3.30 o’clock the men. with their , lady friends, are invited to afternoon | tea in the Fighting Services Club, and | at 5.30 o'clock to a civic function in the Majest'j Theatre when gifts from the I citizens of Nelson will be presented. | Invitation to these functions have | been sent to those men whose names i and addresses are known and these arc j asked to pass the information on to | others who may not have received a i formal invitation. | The men are also asked to assemble ! at the Church Steps at 5.15, and march Ito the Theatre with the Regimental j Band. i The Mayor expresses the hope that i the attendance of the public at the i Majestic Theatre will be worthy of the j occasion. Arrangements have been ! made for very brief speeches and for ; the function to conclude by 6 p.m.
