THREE KILLED IN ACTION

AUCKLAND SCHOOL TEACHERS Auckland, June 18. "We have lost six teachers,” said the chairman of the Auckland Education Board, Mr W. J. Campbell, at to-day’s meeting when the names of three teachers on active service were reported killed. They are Frederick Wakelin, Herbert Scott and Alan Stuart. Mr Wakelin was formerly a relieving teacher and was killed in a road accident in Egypt. Mr Scott was assistant master at the Cambridge District High School. Mr Stuart was a probationary teacher at Te Kuiti District High School and latterly of St. Stephen’s College, Auckland. —P.A.
