MOTUEKA MUNICIPAL BAND

PRESENTATION TO WARRANT OFFICER HARDWICK ( At the Municipal Band's weekly i dance, on Friday* evening, a farewell was tendered to Warrant Officer Hardwick of the Royal New Zealand Air' Force Band, by the Mayor (Mr W. J. Eginton) on behalf of the Motueka Band and residents of the borough. Warrant Officer Hardwick, the Mayor said, had been in the district for only two weeks and had devoted his time to teaching the boys the art of drumming and marching and he was amazed at the very big improvement in both. He hoped that in the near future the public would see members of the Band parade in military uniforms and forage caps, which would add greatly to their appearance. Junior Bandsman Thomas, on behalf | of the Boys’ Band, asked Mr Hardwick j to accept a gift of silver salad servers as a token of their appreciation of his kindness in giving two weeks of his time to train them. After the recipient had suitably re plied he was accorded musical honours.
