CONCERT AT MONTHLY MEETING Miss Glen Carty and Miss Mar Lumsden arranged a very enjoyabl programme of English music at th monthly meeting of the Nelson branc ct the Music Teachers’ Association. A splendid attendance of membei enjoyed the items, which were: Tal on English Composers and Music, Mi. l N. Lumsden; instrumental quarteth “Golden Sonata” (Purcell), Mrs V Vaughan, Mrs Maginnity. Mr K. Grave Mr J. B. Lemmer, Miss G. Carty; voc; solo, “Song of Sleep” (Lord Henr Somerset). Miss J. Watson;, harp acc Mrs F. Mitchell; violin obligato. Mi W. Vaughan; recitation, “Queen Mai garet” Shakespeare). Miss Rana Grair ger; piano solo, “Clouds Across 11 Moon” (Alec. Rowley), Miss N. Lum: den; vocal solo, “The Windmill” (No; son), Mr- Leo Buckeridge, harp sol' “Prelude” (Husselman), Mrs F. Mil ckell; vocal solo. “Summer Nighl <Goring-Thomas), Mrs H. Noble; orga solo, Ist Movement, Sonata in C ■ Elgar), Miss G. Carty. Accompaniments were played by Mi Murdoch and Miss G. Hodgson. Next month’s meeting will be hel or- 12th July. Mrs M. A. Nightingal and Miss Zillah Smith are arrangin the programme.
