DEPUTY-GOVERNOR RESERVE BANK
MR FUSSELL APPOINTED (United Press Association] Wellington, This Day. Mr E. C. Fussell has been appointed deputy-governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, according to an announcement by Mr Nash, Acting-Prime ■ Minister, to-day. Mr Fussell has been on the staff of the Reserve Bank since its inception and was for the major part of his time secretary to the bank. he was assistant to the Governor. Before coming to the Reserve Bank Mr Fussell was secretary to the general manager of the National Bank. During the last few years he had extensive experience overseas, especially in connection with central banks of the world, including the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, the Federal Reserve banking system of the United States, the Central Bank of Canada, the Bank of England, and several European central banks. Mr Fussell, said Mr Nash, is a New Zealander well fitted by disposition and extensive technical experience to hold the position to which he was now appointed.
