R.A.F. BOMBERS ATTACK KIEL

The Air Ministry announced that bombers attacked Kiel last night, further damaging important shipbuilding yards. They also bombed the port of Emden docks at Cberi bourg. None of our planes is missing. The Fleet Air Arm co-oper-ated iu the attack on Cherbourg. Coastal observers last night reported that wave after wave of bomber# attacked the French coast from Dunkirk to Boulogne for the third successive night. The heaviest explosions yet heard rocked houses in south-east England. Cape Gris Nez and Calais seemed to receive specially heavy bombing. SATURDAY’S RAID ON COLOGNE Reporting on Saturday night’s raids, the Air Ministry stated that Cologne i for the second night in succession was heavily attacked by bombers. Many high-explosive and incendiary bombs v r ere dropped and many large fires were left burning in the industrial quarters of the town. Attacks on a smaller scale were made on the docks ax Rotterdam and Boulogne and on other objectives in enemy-occupied territory. French and Dutch harbours were attacked by aircraft of the Coastal Command and the Fleet Air Arm. From all these night operations one aircraft of the Bomber Command was missing.
