WOOL SEASON

TWO RECORDS MADE VALUE AND QUANTITY [United Press Association] Auckland, This Day Returns for the final wool appraisal released tq-day by the Auckland Wool Brokers’ Association show that the total cheque for the 1940-41 season reached the record of £1,653,092. Last season’s cheque was £1,375,086 and the previous record in 1936-37 was £1,528,545. This is the fifth year in succession that the cheque has exceeded £1,000,000. Another record was also established this season, namely the quantity of wool handled, 94,430 bales, compared with 81,431 last season and 87,949, which was the previous record, in 1936-37.
