ENLARGING PANAMA CANAL

TENDER OF 22,000.000 DOLLARS ACCEPTED [U.P.A.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] San Francisco, Apl. 20. The Henry J. Kaiser Company, of Oakland, California, announced to-day that its tender of 22,436,860 dollars for enlarging the Panama Canal had been accepted by the War Department.

The project calls for the excavation of a third set of locks on the Pacific side of the canal. Work will begin in 30 days. The successful tender was almost 2,000,000 dollars below the next lowest.
