WEDDING

KELSEY—JOHNSON A wedding of wide interest was recently solemnised at St. John’s Methodist . Church, Nelson, when Phyllis Ivy, [ yojnger daughter of Mrs A and the late G. A. Johnson. Wakefield Quay, , was married to John Makgill, third son . of Mr and Mrs R. D Kelsey, of One- . hunga. The bride, who was escorted by Mr | B B Jones, wore an ivory taffeta gown, j the bodice being draped with a wide i band of rucking at the waist, and had i: fu.'l circular skirt. Her beautiful veil lof Brussels lace, an heirloom of the I bridegroom’s family, was held in place iby a circlet of orange-blossom. She carried a sheaf of cream gladioli and I rosebuds. The bride was attended by | her sister Rona. whose frock was of apple-green taffeta, with puffed sleeves and full flared skirt. Her bouquet was | °f small golden dahlias. Chinese lantern i flowers and maidenhair fern, and she j wore golden Chinese lantern flowers in her hair. The church was artistically decorated by friends of the bride with golden and apricot gladioli The Rev. E. O. Blamires of Wel- ; lington. uncle of the bride, officiated at the ceremony, assisted by the Rev Win. Rowe. Miss G Carty presided at the j organ. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Eric Chittenden The reception was held in the beautiifu 1 garden of Mr and Mrs J Everett I Wakefield Quay. The bride’s mother received the guests wearing a navy eni semble with a shoulder-sprav of cx'claI flowers. She was assisted by* Mr* ' ' Everett, who wore a silver-grey costume and hat and shoulder-sprav of sweet Sultan.

Mr and Mrs Kelsey left by steamer for Wellington en route for Auckland, where they will make their home Mrs Kelsey travelled in a flowered silk frock, powder-blue coat and hat. with navy accessories.
