NELSON ROTARY CLUB

WEEKLY LUNCHEON TO-DAY ROTARIAN J. G. McKAY CONGRATULATED i The weekly luncheon of the Nelson Rotary Club was held in the Ritz rooms to-day when ex-president Rotarian L. N. Montgomery occupied the chair in the absence of the president, Rotarian J G. Ingram. Visitors to the luncheon were Captain F H Grear Sergt.-Major McKenzie. Mr T. B. Carpenter and Mr J. McClinchey (Wellington). The chairman congratulated Rotarian J G. McKay on the decoration of the Distinguished Flying Cross which had been awarded to his son, Acting-Flight Lieut. J. . McKay. The club decided to forward a letter of congratulation to Acting Flight Lieut. McKay. Rotarian McKay, who was accorded musical honours, thanked the club for the reference to his son, and briefly outlined some of his experiences during the past three years in the R.A.F. The chairman also referred to the success of Mr Carpenter’s daughter. Miss J. Carpenter, at the New Zealand swimming championship*.
