MONTHLY MEETING AND CHRIST

MAS PARTY The children's Christmas party organised by the Lower Moutere Women’s Institute was held at the residence of Mrs Harding following the monthly meeting. Fourteen children were entertained, and after games had been enjoyed tea was dispensed to members and soft drinks an ’ cakes to the children, who were also the recipients of bags ol sweets. Mrs Handing extended a welcome to Mrs Tweedy (Federation president) and to other visitors present, expressing the hope that all would enjoy the party. On this occasion instead of receiving gifts from the Christmas tree each child was presented with a National Saving Account book with Is deposit, the idea beine to encourage the children to save and also to help the war effort.
