BUILDINGS DYNAMITED

TO PREVENT SPREAD OF FIRES (Received 31st December, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, 30th December. Some buildings were dynamited to prevent fires from spreading. St. Bride’s Church in Fleet Street was practically gutted and many buildings in Cheapside were wrecked. Incendiary bi mbs burnt through the lead roofing of St. Paul’s Cc dral. The Banquet Hall at the Guildhall was set alight.
