6 j MANAWATU V. NELSON “ 1 The main cricket attraction for the r I New Year is a representative match r between Manawatu and Nelson which r will be played at Trafalgar Park on Wednesday and Thursday. Ist and 2nd s January. Both teams as selected are r strong ones and with the wicket in very good order, some good performances can be expected. Patrons of the game are assured of a good match, and those of the public desiring to spend a pleasant day in the open could not do better than attend this fixture. In addition to the representative j match there will be two one-day games . 1 at the Park —Nelson City v. Wellington l _ on Thursday, and Manawatu v. E. R. l " Neale’s eleven on Friday. The last - mentioned match has been arranged as r - a compliment to Mr E. R. Neale who has been Nelson's most prominent ' cricketer and cricket administrator > i over a long period of years and all 1 cricketers and supporters of the game ' are to be present at this game. The Nelson team to play Manawatu is as follows: A. Newman (captain), Wilde. Scholfield. Ralfe, Birch. Bowers. O’Keefe, Ching, Stevens. Organ, Hall. The Manawatu team will be selected S from the following: J. Gallichan (captain). C. C. McVicar. Miller. Billing, Kilmister, Downes. O’Connell. Hart (3), n Collis, Mullins, Adcock.
