Christmas Handicap, of £125; one mile—3 Waitaka, 7.3, 1; 2 Glenora Boy. 8.5, 2; 1 Roy Bun, 9.3, 3. Scratched: Queen Linda. Won by a length; half a length. Time, 1.45 1-5. Westland Hack Handicap, of £125; one mile and a quarter—l Gay Parade. 9.0. 1; 5 Great Bramble. 7.10. 2; 4 Miss Tasta, 7.10, 3. All started. Won by two lengths; three-quarters of a length. President’s Handicap Trot, of £BS; one mile and a half.—3 Rorqual, scr, 1; 2 Narvik, scr, 2; 4 Jarrah, 36yds bhd, 3. Also started: Airline. Dawn Grattan, Kia Ora King, Lady Travis, Lough Derg. Speedy de Oro. Won by a length each way. Time. 3.39 3-5.
Stewards’ Highweight Handicap, of £BS; seven furlongs.—l Peacock, 9.3, 1; 3 Rebel Chief, 9.0. 2; 2 Life Guard. 8.3. 3 The only starters. Won by half a length each way Time. 1.34-
The totalisator handled £5968 10s, as against £4231 10s last year, when there were seven events.
