LOYAL TEMPERANCE LEGION

CHILDREN’S ANNUAL CONCERT An enjoyable evening was spent in the Methodist Hall when members of the Loyal Temperance Legion gave their annual concert in aid of funs to take the concert party to the Special School at Richmond and repeat it there. Th-‘ first item was a character song. “Guard the Bible.” by Beryl Reed, Ngaire Reed. Barbara Quirk and Efiie Rankin. It was followed by a duet by Ramona Byrne and Geraldine Gatwood: “The Pigmy Dance.” by May and Joan Baxter and Betty Stirling; company songs. “What is love” and “Hey ho for freedom”: recitation with chorus by Margaret Toomer, Amberley Frost, Joan Staines. Yvonne Brown, S. and D. Rankin, Barbara Templeman, Rosina Gargiulo; recitations by Jim Rankin and David and Bruce Ching, Horace Pahl. Stephen and Effie Rankin; duet by Rosina Gargiulo and Joyce Stephens. The children conducted a model L.T.L. meeting. Bible characters were well represented 1 • Mr Rankin as leader and children of S.A.S. school. Mrs Rankin is now superintendent of L.T.L. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Moyes for past services. The meeting closed with the singing of the Temperance Doxology.
