WOMEN’S NATIONAL RESERVE At the monthly meting of the Foxhill Women’s National Reserve there was a good attendance. It was arranged to hold a raffle of a Christmas hamper. The cake raffle was finalised, Miss Nola Homan being the winner. Competitions were held. One ,a sponge sandwich, was won by Miss Fisher. The most useful article made from a flour bag and the most original article from a sugar bag, were won by Mrs Claude Holland. Mrs Dyson Thomas donated a : cushion which will be disposed of at a later date. The competition at the next meeting, fhich is to be held on the 2nd \ Wednesday in January, will be “the best bloom in my garden.” Surprise packets will be for sale. BRIGHTWATER METHODIST LADIES’ GUILD In order to supplement Circuit finances a sale of work and social evening was recently arranged by the Brightwater Methodist Ladies’ Guild. The Rev. M Ayrton, circuit minister, | opened proceedings, pointing out the' .’Slue of organised planning for church ani Sunday school purposes. He said | that the growth of the Sunday Schdol an 1 the increased number of young people about them indicated that in the near future more accommodation would be necessary to do efficient work. During the evening a supper was provided by Mesdames Beilby, Freeman. Stoughton Marshall, Hill, Nicholls, | Johnson and others. j
