Seventeen soldiers invalided horn•'ro'n overseas arrived at Auckland 1.0-day in a special railway sleep in; :ajr. They were met by relatives, friends and representatives of th.* Army Department. The army pro vided transport to their homes anci three who were travelling to Whangarei were given a meal at the station restaurant. How then are women to take the Minister’s advice?” AIRMAN KILLED AT NEW PLYMOUTH WELLINGTON, This Day It was officially announced tc-da r that an airman pilot under training, Leading Aircraftsman Maurice Sydley Best, of Bombay, Auckland, war silled instantly at about 11 o’clock this morning when struck by an alr:raft approaching the aerodrome at the Air Force station at New Ply nouth. Best was walking along tht ooundary of the aerodrome in company with another airman pilot under training when an aircraft which hod been engaged in training exercises :ame in at a low altitude.
