OBITUARY
MRS ROSIE MAY DODSON A well-known and highly respected resident of Central Takaka, Mrs Rosie May Dodson, wife of Mr W. W. Dodson, passed away recently at the age of 60 years. Born at Hamama, the late Mrs Dodson was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs William Andrews. She spent all her life in the Golden Bay district. Of a somewhat retiring and unassuming nature, the late Mrs Dodson nevertheless endeared herself to a host of friends by reason of her kindly disposition, and news of her demise was received with widespread regret. The deceased lady leaves a family of three sons and one daughter—Messrs N. A. Dodson (Kotinga), W. A. Dodson (Kotinga) and E. A. Dodson (Takaka) and Mrs O. Roberts (Takaka), to whom, together with the husband, the sympathy of the community has been extended. The largely altended funeral at the Rototai Cemetery was preceded by a short service at the residence, both ceremonies being conducted by the Rev. W. Bell. The bearers were Messrs Keith Page, Lyall Newport, Norman Hitchcock, R Baigent, F. Barnett and Les. Hodgkinson. The large number of beautiful wreaths received testified to the esteem in which the late Mrs Dodson was held in the district.
