DOMINION ASSOCIATION MEETS MR A. C. KITTO ELECTED , PRESIDENT [United Press Association] WELLINGTON, This Dav. Twenty-three delegates from all parts of the Dominion attended the annual meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association at Wellington on Saturday. Mr R. W. McVilly, retiring president, was chairman. The statement of receipts and expenditure showed annual subscriptions £BS. contributions to overseas representative funds £142 and general £509 (including New Zealand championships £22(. and sports art union £225). With a balance from the previous year of £S3P this made the total receipts £1276. filter payments, the balance was £672. The balance-sheet showed £6OB in the overseas representative fund, £SO in the jubilee account, and accumulated funds £367. The Rose Trust Fund showed an excess assets over liabilities of £lOl2, £3O interest having been credited to the association’s overseas fund. The annual report stated that the wa** must affect the sport, because of athletes being in the armed forces and the effect on club finances. It was the asoociation’s obvious duty to maintain the sport as it provided one of the finest wav S of keeping the nation’s manhood fi To meet the war situation, clubs unable to carry on but wishing to retain their affiliation were allowed to go into recess, at the same time retaining affiliation and not incurring liability for fees till after the war. Ail national open championships were to oe discontinued till after the war. Officers elected were: Patron, the Governor-General; president. Mr A. C. Kitto; management committee, chairman, Mr H I. Austad; hon. secretarytreasurer. Mr H. McCormick; administration committee. Messrs Kitto, Austad McCormick and J. W. Holley (Otago); fin-mce committee. Messrs Kitto, D T Woodheld (Otago), G. S. Leeder (Wanganui); records committee, Messrs Leeder. V. R. Walker (Auckland) D Macpherson; delegates to New Zealand Olympic Association, Messrs Austad. Glasson and Leeder; reinstatement committee. Messrs A. L. Stevens (Hawkes Bay), J A Glasson and Holley; representative on Olympic Association executive. M r Austad. The 1942 junior and women’s championships were allocated to Hawkes Bay There will be no open track and held and cross-country championships till after the war.
