GROWING POWER OF FREEDOM

RESOURCES OF GENERAL DE GAULLE [U.P.A.— By Electric Telegraph-Copyright] LONDON. 29th November. In a broadcast to the people of France. General de Gaulle gave striking evidence of the growth of the Free French movement. He said that they had 35.000 trained troops. 20 warships. 1000 airmen. 60 merchant ships at sea. rnd an increasing number of newspapers and radio stations. Dealing with the aims of the movement he said they wanted first of all to defeat the enemy. They wanted a French victory, and that was why they wanted, little by little, to gather together France and her empire, even if they should have to force those French people who were prevented from doing their duty by traitors.
