PATRIOTIC GREEKS

FUNDS TO AID MOTHERLAND [United Press Association] WELLINGTON. This Day. The Greeks of New Zealand are apparently determined to send all the help they can to their homeland in the battle she is waging against the Italian aggressor. They have been busy during the past few weeks in raising funds to send to the Greek Government to help in the war effort. One party went up the west coast of the North Island and another up the east coast, and collectors were busy in the South Island. The fund, which has now reached £2300, will close within the next few days, and has been subscribed solely by Greek nationals in New Zealand. Only last week New Zealand Greeks dispatched £2OOO to the Red Cross Society in Athens.
