BRITISH BOMBERS

GERMAN INDUSTRIAL CENTRES RAIDED ATTACK ON FOIITZ RENEWED TWELVE BIG FIRES STARTED [British Official Wireless J (Received 30th November. 1.45 p.m.) RUGBY, 29th November. British bombers again proved their ability to raid industrial centres deep into Germany last night. They renewed the attack on Politz near Stettin on the Baltic which six weeks ago was the object of a heavy and remarkably successful raid. Bombs dropped by the first aircraft—which was making a round trip of 1300 miles —started immediate fires followed by a brilliant explosion and a white flash among buildings. Other bombers then weighed in, one observer reporting at least twelve big fires. Another observer counted eight more fires as a result of his own bombing. The flames, enlivened by many lesser explosions, spread quickly amongst the debris. The shipbuilding yards at Stettin itself were also bombed. Stettin, since the completion of the Berlin-Stettin ship canal in 1914 has been Berlin’s outlet to the sea. SIDE BLOW TO NAVY A side blow was given to the German navy by the bombing, with consequent fires and explosions, of the Mannheim factory which turns out submarine engines. Another armament works at Dusseldorf was also attacked. Sidings and goods yards were bombed at Koblenz, Ludwigshaven and Neuff near Dusseldorf. Bridges and road and rail junctions on both banks of the Rhine were singled out. DOCKS AND SHIPPING OVER* WIDE RANGE

Earlier in the night another aircraft had ranged widely over enemy docks and shipping from Cuxhaven to Le Havre. Fires bi'oke out in Boulogne harbour and at Antwerp one aircraft made no fewer than three preliminary runs in order to be certain of hitting the docks accurately.
