ITALIAN OPERATIONS IN ALBANIA
SUCCESSFUL COUNTER-ATTACK CLAIMED I (U.P.A.-By Electric Telegraph-Copyright | I (Received 30th November, 1.25 p.m.) LONDON, 29th November. An Italian communique .states: “Three : divisions of the Eleventh Army counterattacked on the Greek front, crushing an enemy attempt at infiltration. About I 3fto Italian planes bombed enemy com- : munications especially in the Ersek- | Sopiki zone and naval forces bombarded a base at Corfu, hitting shore batteries, fortifications, barracks, a wireless station and observation posts. “The Air Force attacked an enemy naval squadron off Malta and hit a big enemy war vessel.” Official quarters in Rome deny the fall of Argyrokastron but admit heavy fighting. BRITISH NAVAL ATTACHE IN GREECE VISIT TO ENGLAND [British Official Wireless j (Received 30th November, 1.20 p.m.) RUGBY, 29th November. Rear Admiral Turle, British Naval Attache in Greece, arrived in England and had an interview with chiefs of staff to whom he reported on local situation.
