The Stamp Club,

—i CONDUCTED BY THE STAMP MAN ' v C Hullo, Boys and Girls, — 1 think it would be very interesting , to find out the number of stamps that : have a postal horn in the designs. Although now a thing of the past, this in- \ strument was much used in bygone centuries. To-day we know when the post- 1 man is about, by his cheery whistle, but 1 in the olden days, especially in Europe, when the postman arrived at a village or town, he would announce his arrival by playing a short tune on his horn, thus attracting the attention of people who were expecting letters. If you look at the stamps of Hungary, Finland and Holland, you will find that these countries (as well as many others) show the horn on quite a number of their issues. Your friend. THE STAMP MAN. STAMP MAN S MAIL BOX Lorna Biggs, Murchison.—l received yqur letter safely. Lorna, and was pleased to get it. I have the full set ot the Australian stamps and they are certainly very attractive.
