PRISON FOR TWO FIREMEN

[United Press Association] WELLINGTON, 24th October. For the theft of a fur coat valued at £4O and furs valued at £23 10s from the shop of the Universal Fur Company, Limited, Wellington, Frederick Walter Beech, ship’s fireman, aged 32, and John Patrick Murphy, labourer and fireman, aged 41, were each sentenced to two years' imprisonment with hard labour by Mr Justice Ostler in the Supreme Court. Both had been found guilty by a jury last week.
