ITALIAN PARTY ATTACKED
HEAVY CASUALTIES INFLICTED NO BRITISH LOSSES [British Official Wireless] (Received 25th October, 11.10 a.m.) RUGBY, 24th October. The official communique from Cairo headquarters was issued to-day: “Egypt: During the night of 22nd-23rd October an enemy camp east of Sidi Barrani was successfully raided. One prisoner was captured and several motor transport vehicles destroyed.” “Sudan: On 19th October one of our motorised patrols in the Kassala sector attacked at close range from the rear of a party of approximately 1000 men, inflicting very heavy casualties. Our casualties were nil. “Other fronts: Nothing to report.”
