OPINION CHANGED
DELEGATE TO ECONOMIC CONFERENCE rUnited Press Association! CHRISTCHURCH. 24th October. The deliberations of the recent conference which dealt with the stabilisation of the country's economy led the president of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce. Mr W. S. Mac Gibbon. to change his views about some Labour delegates. Mr Mac Gibbon said at the chamber’s annual dinner to-night, at which the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser was a guest, that he had some preconceived ideas about certain of the delegates from the Federation of Labour, but his experience at the conference had altered those views entirely Mr Mac Gibbon declared that those delegates were loyal to the backbone. The conference had brought differing factions together and its fundamental conclusions, if carried out, would mean a great deal to the Dominion.
