INTERCESSION

Unto Thee do I lift up mine eyes, O Thou that sittest in the heavens. Behold as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look unto the Lord our God, until He have mercy upon us. (Psalm cxxlii: 1-2).

O Lord God of Mercy, have pity on those exposed to peril, conflict, sickness * and death. Comfort the prisoners, relieve the wounded, be merciful to the dying. Remove in Thy good providence all causes and occasions of war, dispose the hearts of those engaged therein to moderation, and of Thy great mercy restore peace among the nations: through Jesus Christ our Lord.
