MISSIONARY DAY [Special to “The Mail”] DUNEDIN, 22nd October, i The fifth day of the Baptist Assembly | commenced with the preaching of the 1 missionary sermon by the Rev. G. B. | Boggis, of Auckland. Greetings were extended to the missionaries present, Rev. and Mrs M. J. Eade, Miss A. L. ; Cowles. Miss I. J. Thompson, mission- | ary designate. It was resolved to send j greetings to the missionaries on the 1 N.Z. Baptist Mission Field in East Bengal. The 55th annual report of the Baptist : Missionary Society was m >ved by the ' Rev. H. H. Driver. In spite of the | many difficulties confronting missionaries at the present time new ground iis being occupied. Gratitude was expressed at the assistance rendered by !Dr Daintree. The financia report was £ presented by the Rev. P. F. Lanyon who spoke of the spirit of sacrifice ZL which the missionary contributions represented.
In the evening a missionary rally . was held when addresses were given by Baptist missionaries from East Bengal.
Tuesday was devotee to the election of officers. Mr H. T. Falla, c’ Linwood, Christchurch was unanimously ap- , pointed vice-president of the union. v Other appointments were: Secretary and treasurer, Rev. P. F. Lanyon; union preacher for 1941, Rev. J. T.
