"TORCHY PLAYS WITH DYNAMITE”

That breezy, fast thinking, fast-mov-ing newspaper girl, Torchy Blane, is back with us again. The characters are back, yes, but there are new players portraying the top pair in the latest Warner Bros. ; comedy of the Torchy series, “Torchy Plays With Dynamite.” j Now, as the girl reporter, we see the small blonde and pert Jane Wyman, Sand as the likable detective whom she always outwits, there is Allen Jenkins. ihe of the funny face and hardboiled i voice. Tom Kennedy plays Gahagan. I as he has from the start. ; “Torchy Plays With Dynamite” is perhaps a trifle swifter than an}' of the previous fast-moving Torchy pictures.

It begins with Torchy landing in gaol | for speeding, and there making the acquaintance of a shoplifter-girl called Jackie. —• Jackie leads her to San Francisco in search of a fugitive bandit with Steve and the dumb Gahagan after them, and following a series of thrilling and hilarious events Steve captures Denver Eddie after one of the funniest wrestling matches ever filmed. Sheila Bromley does an unusually good piece of work as the shopliftinggirl. Tom Kennedy, as Gahagan, is as laugh-provoking as he has been throughout the series. The picture was directed by Noel Smith, made from an original story by Scott Littleton.
