THE BIRDS IN OUR GARDEN
The birds in our garden are very playful. One day when I went out into the garden I saw a little thrush which had hurt its leg. It was lying down on the path and couldn’t get up. I had a look at it and it had probably been caught by a cat. I put it in a box and next morning it was all right. The different kinds of birds which come into the garden are thrushes, blackbirds, sparrows and skylarks. Another day when I was climbing the pine trees there I saw a thrush’s nest. It had four little baby birds in it. About a week after they were gone.— Lois Hunter, Redwood’s Valley.
