WEDDING RYDER—LEE A very quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated recently at St. Barnabas Church, Stoke, when Rauma Burn, twin daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Lee, Tahunanui, was married to Ray. ot the late Mr and Mrs E. Ryder. "DehraDoon” Riwaka. The officiating clergyman was the Rev C. F.Saunders. an 4 Miss S. Grant presided at the organ. The bride who was escorted by her brother-in-law. Mr H. H. S. Compton, was smartly attired in a frock of crushed strawberry satin cordelaine with a prunella velvet toque and accessories to match. She carried a bouquet of roses and carnations in similar tonings. The only bridesmaid. Miss Joyce Liddle, was gowned in a frock of prunella crepe with hat and accessories to tone, and also carried a bouquet of pink roses and carnations. Mr A. Mcllwraith acted as best man. During the sigring of the register Mrs E. Langbein sang “Toseli Serenata.” The reception was held at the residence of Mrs W Sherlock, Manuka street, who received the guests wearing a smart black frock with shoulder spray spray of autumn tints. Prior to the wedding the bride was the guest of honour at several evenings, and the popularity of both Mr and Mrs Ryder was further evidenced by the numerous wedding presents received. Mr and Mrs R. Ryder have made their home in Nelson PANTRY EVENING The staff of the Civic Tearooms this week gave a par try evening for Miss Joan Hecker in view of her approaching marriage. A number of friends were entertained at the Civic Tearooms. Many useful gifts for the panty were received by the guest of honour, who thanked fellow staff members for arranging the function and friends for their kindness.
