THE LATE MR K. G. LUCAS
FUNERAL THIS MORNING The burial of Mr K. G. Lucas, which was of a private nature, took place this morning. At a service held at the house a tribute was paid to the qualities of the late Mr Lucas by the Rev. W. Rowe, who also conducted the graveside service. The bearers were Messrs L N. Montgomery (Nelson Rotary Club), S. C. Collier (St. John’s Methodist Church), E. B. Marris, R. N. Busch ("Evening Mail”’ staff), J. F. Earle and R. S. Duncan. Many beautiful floral tributes were received from friends and the large number of organisations with which Mr Lucas had been associated, including the N.Z. Newspaper Proprietors’ Association, which was also represented at the funeral. Though the interment was private, a large number of leading citizens attended to pay their last respects to a highly-esteemed member of the community.
