OLD ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL

The old cathedral of St. Paul's, destroyed in tjie Great Fire of London, was bigger than the present St. Paul’s Cathedral, which is 500 ft long. The i eld building was 590 ft, and the old transepts were also wider than the present ones. In the churchyard on the scuth side the bases of some of the columns of the old Gothic cathedral can still be seen.
