W. Smith realised 17s 7d. and four attractive sheep offered by another vendor made 19s 7d. A pen of 13 well-finished sheep owned by Mr C. D. Cunningham fetched 16s lOd. and an- : ether lot offered on account of the same 1 vendor realised 16s 7d. A number of i. sales were made at from 16s 4d down j | to 14s 4d. I Only 136 wethers came forward, and j J only the top quality sorts attracted the j j attention of butchers. Nine heavy- j j weights were keenly bid for by several ‘ ! buyers before being knocked down at! 31s lOd. Two good pens offered on I account of Mr W. Payne each made 24s 1 lOd. and a pair of attractive sorts own;ed by Mr L. M. Jellyman made 25s 4d. A number of offerings were passed I in at round about 21s 3d up to 235. i THE STORE SECTION The store section was made up of j 385 sheep, of which 267 were ewes, all, ! being in lamb. A station line of halfj breds comprising two-tooths up to j aged sheep attracted a good deal of at- j ; tention from farmers. A pen of 71 j two-tooths. in lamb to a Southdown j ram, made 14s 7d, and 75 mostly sound- j mouth sheep, in lamb to the same ; ram, fetched 7s. Full and failing mouth 1 sheep from the same station changed ; hands at 4s 6d to 3s Id. Two pens j of Romneys, offered on account of Mr j T. Daken, also attracted attention.
