TO PATRIOTIC FUND [United Press Association] WHANGAREI, This Day. Commercial travellers made merry at Whangarei yesterday raising £1350 with more to come. A mock court realised £BSO. Northland’s contribution to the Sick and Wounded Fund is in excess of £14.000 and the Whangarei district’s iota! is over £6OOO.

Mr George Martin. a farmer at Whakapara, subscribes to the “all-in” war effort. His elder son is with the Second Echelon and the father and younger son have enlisted. Mr Martin who was accepted for home service has advertised his 335 acre farm for sale and stipulates that the purchaser shall pay £SOO deposit to the Government as an interest free loan for the duration and twelve months afterwards.
