It is reliably stated that President Cardenas approved quadrupling th# armed forces, including the purchas# of six United States destroyers. H# added that the United States was making available credits for this purpos# exceeding 10.000,000 dollars. REQUESTS FOR CREDITS (Received 21st June, 11.25 a.m.) WASHINGTON. 20th Jun#. Mr Welles said the United State# would consider in a friendly manner th# request from Mexico for credits and other assistance for defence.
