“HARBOUR LIGHTS"

BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT LAST NIGHT’S CONCERT AT TIIREATRE ROYAL MISS P. AYDON’S PUPILS ! A very enjoyable concert, “Harbour Lights,” was presented by the pupils of Miss P. Aydon at the Theatre Royal last evening, the proceeds going to the Patriotic Funds. A large and appreciative audience was entertained with a very bright and interesting programme which opened with a nautical number “Boys of the Navy,” with T. Leahy doing a hornpipe which was enthusiastically applauded. Also in the first portion of the programme there were song and duo items. ballet and solo dances, songs by Misses B. Aydon and M. Snow and Mr D. Bishop. Items in a lighter vein were presented by Messrs W. A. Gibson and H. Joyce, who kept the audience amused with their witticisms. The second act opened with the iteVn. “A Classical Garden.” with the elf, V. Thompson, doing a clever solo dance. “Slave Adagio.” presented by Mr R. Mellsop and Miss B. Oliver, was realistically performed as was the dance by i Mickey and Minnie (C. and M. Stewart). The final item. “The Army, Navy and Air Force” with Mr D. Bishop as soloist, was an appropriate ending to a bright and entertaining programme. The following was the programme: Opening chorus. “It‘s the Navy” (hornpipe by T. Leahy).
