SOLDIER’S DEATH
KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR [United Press Association] AUCKLAND, This Day. Leslie Evan Thomas, aged 34, who was found unconscious at the side of the Great South Road near Papatoetoe yesterday morning died in the Auckland Hospital early this morning. Sapper Thomas came from the National Park to Papakura military camp as a member of the Forestry Company and it is believed that he was knocked down by a motor car during Saturday night.
