BRITISH BY-ELECTION
[British Official Wireless) (Received 24th February, 10.35 a.m.) RUGBY, 23rd February. The Silvertown by-election resulted: Hollins (Labour) 14,343, Pollitt (Communist) 966, Moran (Fascist) 151. The Fascist and Communist candidates forfeited their deposits. Mr Hollins said: “The result is an expression of opinion by the workers of this country that they are standing solidly together in the determination to wipe out this evil thing from the face of Europe.”
