MATCH AT WAKEFIELD MOTUEKA AT THE CREASE SEVEN WICKETS DOWN FOR 150 A cricket match between Waimea (holders) and Motueka (challengers) for the Newman Shield was commenced at Wakefield this morning in ideal weather. The wicket was good, though a little bumpy at the northern end. Waimea are defending the shield which they recently won from Marlborough. At the luncheon adjournment, Motueka, who won the toss and batted first, had put on 150 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. E. Ryder (49) and F.
